WAMU 88.5 - WAMU - FM 88.5 - Washington, DC

On the day in May that WAMU interrupted broadcast to bring the 13 tornado warnings in the DC metropolitan area, I remained at work late, listening to the regular and interrupted broadcasts as I planned for a safe commute home. This was a life saving community service. Thank you for serving the community.

WAMU used to be much better. The station used to have much more diversity in programming. And until a couple of years ago, the station aired 10 hours a week of dedicated local programming. It's now down to 1 hour a week, and that is the only hour in the entire line-up where listeners can call in live. More diverse voices are needed, too.

I just want to leave a minimum of 100 character review to make WAMU have a better rating. HIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIi

In these times of Media overload on television and radio, the brightest light in my opinion is NPR and WAMU. Always informative, always interesting subjects, and very creative ideas in producing radio programs. I am a monthly supporter and encourage anyone who reads this to send a contribution to help support public radio. It really is for the public without a corporate view of the world.
