Hello I am emailing Mr Gordon regarding the once again proposed Millage for transportation. Lets get past the usual talking points that Amazon might have come here had we adopted this new policy . Well Amazon wasn't coming here regardless so lets throw that one out. Now lets talk about the youth and see more... how they need this . Well they don't and they may use it coming from Ann Arbor or Detroit . However there is no discussion about the increase in Property Taxes and how that will affect home buying choices and the real future of Oakland County where home values are the highest . Yes they might be able to afford the home but not with the taxes. Now at least in my area there is a aging population and they will be selling there homes and there will be no one to buy them with perpetual increases in taxes. I have friends that have already purchased homes in Tenessee and Florida and they would love to keep there places here but are simply planning to leave this new tax will only perpetuate that. The Media talks about the brain Drain problem well My situation is typical of many parents . I would Love to have my only daughter and only child with me here in Michigan I even offered her a free place in downtown Rochester . She simply could not get anything here in Michigan there isn't anything .She is in Mississippi with a 6 figure job . My friends all have situations the are similar. In fact there was a noteworthy report on your station about some U of M report touting the same number of collage graduates in this state now as we had 40 years ago. Well he is correct they all left here for better weather lower taxes and better opportunity. We Oakland County has sacrificed many of our large companies to the city of Detroit as well as Pistons and Lions. How much more can we sacrifice to prop up Wayne county and Ann Arbor. With a 2.5 mil Transportation Tax that will raise my Taxes over $500 a year and I am not alone. So the media should expose this for what it is . Another cash grab for the Wayne County and the city of Detroit. There was a Time when this was one of the greatest areas for opportunity in the country policies like these will put a final end to that Thank you Paul Hosner 248-804-3496 .

Beckman: Michigan Speedway security? paid by the state??? Why??? Debbie Stabenow got $500 for the speedway in the last few years. They need more free stuff???
